Hello, my name is Carly. I live in South Wairarapa, a beautiful rural community just an hour north of Wellington, New Zealand; and I am a documentary photographer, educator, storyteller and Mother.
Documentary photography to me, is a deeply meaningful and authentic way of making portraits and capturing stories. It’s one that puts truth and understanding first and does not require anything or anyone to be posed, styled or ‘done up’. It’s something I wholeheartedly believe in and you can view more of my work on my WEBSITE.
I also offer kids, youth and adult photography workshops - covering everything from an introduction series (which you can use any camera, even a smart phone), through to DSLR workshops, flash + studio photography, and my favourite, shooting analogue film. They are completely relaxed and fun because at the core of all my teaching is the belief that in art and self expression, there is no right or wrong. Photography is as much about the perspective of the photographer as it is about the subject.
That’s what makes us and photographs unique.
From this store you can book a documentary photoshoot with me, a seat in an upcoming workshop, or purchase gift vouchers for loved ones.
